Procedure of employment for workers from abroad
Procedure of employment for workers from abroad for a maximum period of 6 months (simplified procedure)
The simplified procedure, also called “the declaration procedure” allows a citizen of one of these 6 countries – Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation and Ukraine – to work in Poland for 6 months within 12 subsequent months without a requirement of obtaining a work permit. A condition necessary to be qualified for the simplified procedure is registration of a declaration of the intention to commission work to a foreigner by an employment office, as well as having a document confirming the permit to stay in Poland, which may also be combined with a permission to work in Poland.
An employer who wants to employ a Ukrainian has to register the declaration of the intention to commission work to a foreigner in the District Labour Office, appropriate for the headquarters or residence address of the applicant.
It is worth noting, that the registration procedure is realised in one visit to the district labour office and is free of charge, both for the employer and for the potential employee.
The registered declaration shall constitute the grounds for the Ukrainian employee to receive a visa issued by a diplomatic/consular office.
